Master Title

An Evaluation of the economic impact of low number (1) of year 1998

Master Abstract

The methods of privatization pursued by the Egyptian government have varied during the economic reform program that has been implemented since 1991, and changing the legislation that regulates the work of economic sectors was one of the most important methods of privatizing the organization. Law No. (1) of 1998 was issued to liberalize work in the maritime transport sector in Egypt from By opening the way for local and international private companies to work in this activity. This had its effects on the public business sector companies working in the field of maritime transport and shipping agencies (Abu Simbel, Taiba, Memphis, Amoun, and the Canal). The law and the estimation of the economic and social return of selling those companies in the event that they were sold before the law, and the sale price and return from them as a result of their sale after the issuance of the law.The research has concluded that sales privatizations of public companies are more profitable if the sale is made before the liberalization of the sector in which these companies operate.

PHD Title

The effect of privatization of chemical industries in Egypt on industrial production

PHD Abstract

Privatization for many subsidiary companies of the holding chemical industry company led in general to the improvement of these companies after privatization especially the companies that were sold to a grand investor more than the companies sold by public stock share ,the reason of this success because the new owners have better power for running and investing and taking decisions without returning to the public board in every detail like the listed stock market companies do . The privatization impact was positive in general on the social and economic welfare , the impact was better in the companies sold to grand investor ,and in spite of low labors numbers in these companies ( except for abo zaabal company) the average wages rates raised after privatization which reflected positively on the labors welfare and it does not mean that the impact was not negative on the dismissed labors , the privatized companies led to consumer welfare in spite of the raise of final products prices but the quantities increased and the quality was raised which positively improved consumers welfare , also the new owners return have raised in the companies sold to a grand investor in the companies sold by public stock share the returns were different from one company to an other. Generally privatization had a positive impact on social and public welfare, whereas who deals with the project from owners to labors and consumers have gained benefits from it
