The Role of the European Union Climate Diplomacy in Reinforcing International Efforts to Face Climate Changes During (2015 – 2022)
Master Abstract
The main objective of the study was to clarify the role of European Union climate diplomacy in strengthening international efforts to face climate changes and implement the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement concluded in 2015, that required studying the efforts made by European Union climate diplomacy in raising the issue of climate change in the partnerships and agreements governing the relations of the European Union with its regional neighboring countries, in addition to placing the issue of climate change in bilateral relations with the country's most responsible for exacerbating the issue of climate change, and explaining the efforts of the European Union’s climate diplomacy within the United Nations Framework Convention on climate Change, and cooperation with the main regional organizations and leading international groups represented by the Group of Seven countries and the Group of Twenty, because of their impact on the global economy, which essentially supports effectively addressing the issue of climate change internationally, as well as shedding light on the role of the European Union in the issue of international climate financing to support the capabilities of developing countries and enhance their ability to withstand against the impacts of Climate changes. The study also foresighted the future of the European Union climate diplomacy and relied on the role analysis approach to achieve its objectives as well.
