Research Abstract
The methods of privatization pursued by the Egyptian government have varied during the economic reform program that has been implemented since 1991, and changing the legislation that regulates the work of economic sectors was one of the most important methods of privatizing the organization. Law No. (1) of 1998 was issued to liberalize work in the maritime transport sector in Egypt from By opening the way for local and international private companies to work in this activity.This had its effects on the public business sector companies working in the field of maritime transport and shipping agencies (Abu Simbel, Taiba, Memphis, Amoun, and the Canal). The law and the estimation of the economic and social return of selling those companies in the event that they were sold before the law, and the sale price and return from them as a result of their sale after the issuance of the law.The research has concluded that sales privatizations of public companies are more profitable if the sale is made before the liberalization of the sector in which these companies operate.
