Green energy and its effects on sustainable development in Egypt, 1The impact of internal political factors on achieving sustainable development Applied to the tourism sector in Egypt (2009-2019)
Research Abstract
Abstract:
This study aims to present the Egyptian experience in the transformation of the use of green energies. And define the relationship between the use of green energies and sustainable development in its three dimensions (economic, social, and environmental) in the period 2004/2005 - 2017/2018.
The study found that Egypt possesses large potentials of green energies, but Egypt has been dependent on electricity production from traditional energy, as it established three thermal power stations during the period from 2013 to 2017, which negatively affected the contribution of green energies to the energy system in Egypt. Although Egypt set future plans to rely on green energy until 2035, it has not yet been implemented. The study concluded that there is an inverse relationship between the indicators of sustainable development and green energies, as there is an inverse relationship between GDP and green energies (the economic dimension), and an inverse relationship between the human development index and green energies (the social dimension), and an inverse relationship between green energies and increased CO2 emission ( Environmental dimension).
