Political trust between the citizen and the government and the repercussions of the revolutions

The Egyptian political arena has witnessed wide debates about the legitimacy of involvement of businessmen in the government and the mating of power and money with its repercussion on political trust between the citizen and the government. In this framework, this study examined levels of political trust in the government of Dr. Ahmed Nazif during the period (July 2004 - July 2009). In spite of Egyptian government's frequent emphasis on its achievements, the results of the study confirmed its failure to meet the needs of citizens. Despite the government's endeavor to Surveillance and explore attitudes public opinion, it has not been able to create strong connections with the citizens, the government policies and practices led to widening gap of political trust with the Egyptians public who participated in 25 th January revolution to overthrow the former regime and establish a true democratic political system.
